+ The national news program was intended to be ABC World News Tonight (hence the ref to the theme music) and then I wondered if I should really use David Muir or any authentic reporters in my fanfic. Instead anchorman Richard Davis is a tribute to Spanish-American War reporter and author Richard Harding Davis, who wrote my favorite news short story, "Gallegher."
